Setting up Virtual DJ (aka VDJ)

The following will you in the setup of Virtual DJ.  Let's start with actually loading the program. You can find the product here.  If you already have the software injstalled, please skip to Step 8.

Step 1
When installing Virtual Dj you will be asked to choose the language you want to use for installing Virtual Dj.

Step 2
Step two give information about the software and copyright notices. Choose to agree with the terms and press next, if not choose cancel.  This will cancedl the entire installation.

Step 3
More information about the agreement. Choose next to go to the next step.  If you cannot agree with the rules of Terms Of Service, press cancel.

Step 4
Installation of Virtual Dj on your system. You may change path file location, or just press next.

Step 5
Press next to install.

Step 6
Installation begins onto your PC.

Step 7
Virtual Dj software is installed, press finish to finalize the install.

Step 8
Go to Start Menu located on the bottom left side of your desktop
Open Start menu >> All Programs >> open the folder with Virtual DJ and click to open Virtual Dj.

Step 9
When running Virtual DJ for the first time you will be asked to provide the Serial number provided with your copy of VdJ, enter it in the box provided and select OK.

Step 10
This Step let's you choose which interface you would like to use, choose Basic and select OK, (note this option will appear every time you open the software.
and also you have the option to change it to a different skin when you open the software which will be shown in Step 12)

Step 11
You will see different buttons and tabs to click,
The Browser tab:
This tab allows you to add music from your pc, you can create play lists and choose to play music manualy or set it to auto Dj for a play list.
The Sampler Tab:
This tab allows you to add Samples of your music for mixxing into mp3's for different effects.
The Effects Tab:
This tab allows you to totally change the sound of the mp3.
Backspin - Create a cool ending to a song or set.
Beat Grid - Add beat to music.
Break - Create a dramatic break in a song or to use for ending a set.
Flanger - Produces a swept comb filter effect.
Key change - To change the key of the song
Overloop - Overloop songs or create cool over looped effects for vocal music.
TK Filter - Adjust quality factor on the song.
Vocals - Block vocals and just hear the music or block the music and hear the vocal.

Step 12
Go to Config on the top right handside of Virtual Dj when you open config you will see a skins tab - Choose Skin and from that option you can choose the interface you wish to use.

Step 13
Also in the config menu you can set your Sound Setup.  This gives you option to either use just headset or speakers or both.

Step 14
To Broadcast go to Record tab
--- Click the broadcast tab and then click on broadcast on the left side and then choose Config.
--- With Config open, choose shoutcast and set your biterate.
--- Go to Server and choose Broadcast to Radio Server.
--- Enter in your stream information as given to you (eg: IP cp1.figi-stream.com, Port 000000 and password 12345). Make sure to type the information in and not copy and paste.  Also make sure the password is exactly as you see it and that there is no spaces anywhere.
--- Press OK. If you need the IP address (number) for your VDJ software and not the DNAS please open a ticket.

Step 15
To begin streaming,  press ''Start Recording''.  A timer should begin counting.  Go to the VDJ browser and play a song and then look at Record >> Broadcast and it will show the timer and song title you are playing.
