128 kbps
128 kbps MP3 is a common Internet-radio bitrate and can provide a useful balance between audio quality and bandwidth.
192 kbps
192 kbps provides more data per second and can improve perceived audio quality, but it requires more bandwidth than 128 kbps.
320 kbps
320 kbps uses substantially more bandwidth. It may be appropriate for some services, but it also increases bandwidth consumption for the stream.
Choose the Service-Appropriate Setting
Use the bitrate supported by your digiSTREAM service. Do not select a bitrate simply because it is higher; the encoder and server configuration need to agree.
Listener Bandwidth
Your station's total listener bandwidth requirement increases as the number of simultaneous listeners and stream bitrate increase.
