What Repeated Reconnecting Tells You
Repeated reconnects generally mean the encoder can establish a connection but that connection is being lost or rejected later. Look for a pattern in the timing and for an error number immediately before the reconnect.
1. Check for an Error Code
Error 10054 commonly points to a connection being closed unexpectedly, while 10060 is associated with a connection timeout. Search the exact error shown by SAM for a more focused checklist.
2. Check Your Internet Connection
A temporary interruption, unstable Wi-Fi, overloaded connection, VPN behavior, or other network problem can interrupt a live encoder. If possible, test from a stable wired connection.
3. Verify the Encoder Settings
Confirm the server address, port, password, bitrate, and encoder type. Do not repeatedly change settings that were already known to work without recording the original configuration.
4. Check for Multiple Connections
If more than one DJ, encoder, or AutoDJ process is attempting to use the same source, connections may interfere with one another. Identify the active source before troubleshooting the network.
When to Contact Support
If the encoder repeatedly reconnects while your local internet connection is stable, provide the exact error message and approximate times of the disconnects. This can help determine whether the problem is local or server-side.
Still Having Problems?
If the problem continues after checking the items above, digiSTREAM support can help determine whether the issue is related to the encoder, AutoDJ, streaming server, or network.
- The exact error message, if one is displayed.
- Your streaming server port.
- Whether AutoDJ or a live DJ is currently connected.
- What changed immediately before the problem began.
- The approximate time the problem occurred.
