Adding Your Intro and/or Backup File

Intro Files are played as soon as a listener tunes into your stream.  When your intro file is completed, they will hear your stream

Backup Files are used in case your source (PC) or stream goes down, this will continually play until you re-connect to the server

A COUPLE OF IMPORTANT THINGS TO REMEMBER:

  • The file that you use MUST have the same settings as your stream.  For example, if you are broadcasting at 128kbps (bitrate) with 44.1kHz (sample rate) and Stereo (channels), then your intro and/or backup file MUST be the same.  You may have to convert your mp3 to match these settings.
  • AAC+ files will NOT work for intro and/or backup files.

HOW TO SET UP YOUR INTRO and/or BACKUP FILES:

  1. Go into your Centova Cast Control Panel
  2. Click on Configure Server on the left side of the screen
  3. Click on the Files Tab
  4. Click on the Choose File button for your specific file
  5. Browse for the INTRO (and/or Fallback) file on your PC
  6. Once you find the file, click Open on the browsing window
  7. Click update to save the Configuration
  8. Restart your server

Once you follow these steps, and as long as your file has the correct settings, and it is not AAC+, it should work. Tune in to your stream and give it a listen.  If you only hear the intro file, but not your stream, it typically means your intro file is not using the proper settings.
