SAM Broadcaster Error 401 — Software Activation

Software Activation Error 401 occurs when SAM Broadcaster is being activated while the license already has three concurrent activations, according to Spacial.

What It Means

The SAM Broadcaster license has reached its concurrent activation limit.

Error: SAM Broadcaster Error 401

Possible Causes

  • The license is already activated on three computers.
  • An old computer still holds an activation.
  • A hardware failure prevented normal deactivation.

How to Troubleshoot

  1. On an existing activated computer, open SAM Broadcaster's Config settings.
  2. Select Registration Key.
  3. Click Deactivate to release the activation.
  4. Activate SAM on the intended computer.
  5. If the old computer is unavailable because of hardware failure, contact Spacial support for manual deactivation.
Important:

Change one setting at a time whenever possible. This makes it much easier to determine what corrected the problem.

Additional Notes

This 401 is a software-license activation error, not a SHOUTcast source-password error.
