SAM Broadcaster Error 404 — XML Connection Timed Out

Spacial describes this as an XML retrieval error associated with connection timeout 10060 and notes that it can occur when a modem does not support local loopback.

What It Means

SAM could not retrieve the required XML information because the connection timed out.

Error: SAM Broadcaster Error 404

Possible Causes

  • The connection to the required XML endpoint timed out.
  • The modem/router does not support local loopback.
  • The local network path prevents the requested connection.

How to Troubleshoot

  1. Verify that the Internet connection is working.
  2. Verify the server/endpoint information used by SAM.
  3. If the issue occurs only on one network, test from another network if possible.
  4. Restart the modem/router and retry.
  5. If the error persists, provide the exact XML error and network setup to support.
Important:

Change one setting at a time whenever possible. This makes it much easier to determine what corrected the problem.

Additional Notes

Spacial specifically associates this error with timeout 10060 and local-loopback limitations.
