SAM Broadcaster Error 500 — Relay Using a Local IP

Error 500 can indicate that a SHOUTcast statistic relay is using a local network IP address instead of an Internet/public IP address.

What It Means

At least one configured relay is using a LAN/private IP where a public Internet address is required.

Error: SAM Broadcaster Error 500

Possible Causes

  • A relay was configured with a private address such as 192.168.x.x.
  • A LAN address was entered instead of the public address.
  • The relay configuration points to a non-routable destination.

How to Troubleshoot

  1. Open the SAM statistic relay configuration.
  2. Identify the relay associated with the error.
  3. Check the relay host/address.
  4. Replace a private LAN address with the correct public Internet address supplied by the relay/service provider.
  5. Save the configuration and test the relay again.
Important:

Change one setting at a time whenever possible. This makes it much easier to determine what corrected the problem.

Additional Notes

This error concerns relay/statistic configuration rather than the normal source encoder connection.
