VirtualDJ With an External Mixer Has No Broadcast Audio

Troubleshoot VirtualDJ broadcasting silence when an external DJ mixer or audio interface is being used.

VirtualDJ With an External Mixer Has No Broadcast Audio

External hardware can change the audio routing inside VirtualDJ. A setup that sounds correct through speakers or headphones may not be sending the expected signal to the broadcast path.

Test the simplest configuration first

  1. Note your current Audio Setup so you can restore it.
  2. Temporarily select a simple Master Output configuration.
  3. Play a track and confirm the master meter moves.
  4. Start the broadcast and test the stream.
  5. If the broadcast now has audio, the original hardware routing is the likely cause.

Then restore the external mixer configuration and verify that the signal feeding the broadcast path is the intended master mix.

Important: Headphone/PFL audio is not the same thing as the master broadcast signal. Hearing a track in headphones does not prove the broadcast path is receiving it.
