Recommended VirtualDJ SHOUTcast Settings

A practical starting configuration for broadcasting from VirtualDJ to a digiSTREAM SHOUTcast server.

Recommended VirtualDJ SHOUTcast Settings

VirtualDJ's current manual documents broadcasting to an Internet radio server using SHOUTcast and MP3. Use the station-specific server and port information supplied by digiSTREAM.

SettingRecommended starting point
Broadcast destinationInternet Radio Server
ProtocolShoutCast
FormatMP3
Server URLYour digiSTREAM server address
Server PortYour assigned SHOUTcast port
LoginUse the value required by your digiSTREAM configuration
PasswordUse your station's streaming/source password
Encoding qualityUse the bitrate specified by your digiSTREAM plan; 128 kbps is a common starting point for MP3 radio.
Do not copy a sample port or server from an Internet tutorial. Your digiSTREAM account's server and port are the authoritative values.

VirtualDJ's documentation confirms that its Internet Radio Server mode supports SHOUTcast MP3 streaming.

After entering the settings, start a broadcast and verify both the source connection and audible stream.
